Volunteer Art Teacher – Hybrid Opportunity

Job description:

 

We seek a creative, flexible art teacher to join our team. As an Art Teacher, you will be able to inspire and nurture creativity in our participants.

Location: 11808 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton

Type: Volunteer not paid position – 6 months contract subject to renewal

Required hours: 15 – 20 hours/ week

Required availability: Afternoons, evenings and/or weekends

 

Responsibilities:

 

•Develop and implement engaging art lessons.

•Teach various art techniques.

•Encourage and support participants in expressing their individuality and exploring their creativity through various art projects.

•Provide constructive feedback and guidance on participants' artwork to help them improve their skills and develop their artistic voice.

•Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment where participants feel comfortable expressing themselves and sharing their ideas

•Collaborate with other staff members when needed.

•Ensure that the classroom is clean after each lesson.

•Monitor inventory and source art supplies as needed.

•Attend team meetings.

 

Requirements:

 

•Certificate, diploma or degree in Fine Arts or a related field.

•1+ years relevant teaching experience.

•Strong knowledge and proficiency in various art techniques.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students of different ages, parents, and colleagues.

•Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

•Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for art education.

Volunteer Grant Writer – Remote work and flexible hours

Job description:

We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our organization's programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong writing abilities and excellent research skills.

 

Location: Virtual

 

Type: Volunteer not paid position – 6 months contract subject to renewal

Required hours: 15 – 20 hours/ week

 

Responsibilities:

 

•Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources.

•Develop compelling grant proposals, including project narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, aligning with the funding requirements and guidelines.

•Prepare and submit grant applications within specified deadlines, ensuring all required documents and supporting materials are included.

•Develop and maintain a proposal calendar.

•Develop an annual grants strategy.

•Monitor and track grant deliverables and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission of progress reports and other documentation as specified by the funding source.

•Collaborate with program managers, finance staff, and other team members to gather necessary information and data for grant proposals and reporting.

•Stay updated on trends, best practices, and changes in grant funding policies and regulations, and incorporate them into grant writing and management activities.

•Attend team meetings.

 

Requirements:

 

•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as English, or a related discipline (preferred) or equivalent experience.

•Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive proposals.

•Excellent research and analytical abilities to identify relevant funding opportunities and gather supporting data.

•Familiarity with grant application processes, guidelines, and reporting requirements.

•Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

•Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite.

•Knowledge of the non-profit sector and funding.

•Ethical conduct and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.

We seek an exceptionally creative and detail-oriented Event Planner to join our dynamic team. The Event Planner will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various events for our organization. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating memorable experiences.

Availability and Work Schedule: The schedule for the Event Planner position provides flexibility; however, candidates must be available to attend planned events, which may occur during evenings and weekends.


Responsibilities:


•Plan and coordinate various events, including conferences, social gatherings, and fundraisers.

•Develop and manage event budgets, including cost estimation, expense tracking, and financial reporting, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

•Source, negotiate, and collaborate with external vendors, including venues, caterers, audiovisual providers, decorators, and entertainers, to ensure seamless event execution.

•Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, floor plans, seating arrangements, transportation, equipment, and technology needs, to ensure a smooth and successful event.

• Manage event registration, and promote events through various channels.

•Coordinate all aspects of event execution, including setup, registration, guest management, program flow, and troubleshooting, to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for attendees.

•Conduct post-event evaluations, collect feedback, and prepare detailed event reports, identifying areas of improvement and implementing lessons learned for future events.

•Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, fundraisers and operations, to align event objectives with overall organizational goals and ensure seamless integration of events into broader initiatives.

•Attend team meetings.


Requirements:


•Proven experience in event planning and management, demonstrating successful execution of various events.

•Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Call for Volunteers: PaPa Palooza Event

We are excited to announce the upcoming PaPa Palooza Event, a day filled with fun and entertainment for families in our community. To make this event a great success, we seek dedicated volunteers like you to join our team! This is the perfect opportunity if you are passionate about community engagement and want to contribute to a memorable experience.


Date: June 30th

Time: 9 am – 6 pm

Location: Victoria Park

Volunteer application deadline: May 27, 2023


Positions Available:


1️-Muster Point Leaders: As a Muster Point Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and organization of the event. Your responsibilities will include guiding attendees to designated areas, providing event information, and assisting with emergencies.

•Shift 1: 9:00 am – 1:30 pm

•Shift 2: 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm


2️-First Aid Onsite Contact: If you have First Aid Certificate, we need your assistance as the First Aid Onsite Contact. You will be responsible for addressing any medical emergencies or injuries during the event, coordinating with local medical services if necessary, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all attendees. (P.S. If you are interested in this position and don’t have a first aid certificate, please contact us; we might be able to sign you up for a first aid course).

•Shift 1: 9:00 am – 1:30 pm

•Shift 2: 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm


3️-Security Onsite Contact: As the Security Onsite Contact, you will help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Your role will involve monitoring access points, addressing security concerns, and working closely with the event organizers and local authorities to ensure a smooth operation.

•Shift 1: 9:00 am – 1:30 pm

•Shift 2: 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
